The project is co-financed by the European Union, Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and the province of Flevoland. It aims to process fish and by-streams to new lipids according to the latest EU policies. The new lipids might be applied in for instance infant nutrition and sports nutrition. We are working on a new pilot with latest conversion facilities hygiene scenario’s at Urk which should be the base for more employment.

The project originated from earlier research in lipid valorization by Dr Ten in the past years. The role of Dr Ten lies in enzymatic conversion and extracting of the fish. The role of Aquamar is mainly in scouting of fish waste quality improvement and communication with locals in the Urk Fishery industry. Advice occurs by the University of Wageningen / i-mares.
